Privacy and Security Policy

This privacy notice tells you what to expect when The Stringcredibles collects personal information.

We will comply with GDPR and all data protection law which means that your data will be:

1. Processed lawfully, fairly and in a transparent manner
2. Collected for specific, explicit and legitimate purposes
3. Adequate, relevant and limited to what is necessary
4. Accurate and up to date
5. Kept in a form which could identify individuals for no longer than is necessary and deleted thereafter
6. Processed in a manner that assures appropriate security of the personal data.

What personal data do we collect about you?

When you sign a contract with us, register for a project or deliver work for us, we may collect personal data such as name, gender, date of birth, racial or ethnic origin, postal address, telephone number and email address. We also collect personal data when you voluntarily complete participant surveys to provide feedback, when you donate to our charity, or when you email us or contact us via our website or social media platforms. In general we try to keep as little data on you as possible.

How will we use the personal data about you?

We collect personal data about you to fulfil our contract with you, to enable you to work with us and to let you know if there are any changes to our shows or workshops (for instance a change of start time or very occasionally regarding a cancellation).

In relation to personal data voluntarily given through surveys and feedback forms, this data is used to inform future plans and improve our work and is sometimes required as a condition of funders. In the latter instance, all data is anonymised, with no identifiable data being passed on.

We will also collect personal data about you, if you agree, so we can email you about other Stringcredible events or projects we think may be of interest to you or to let you know about our fundraising activities. We will only do this if you have given your consent by opting in. If you consent to receive marketing or fundraising material via our newsletter, you may opt out at a later date.

We will always keep your personal data safe and will never share it with external organisations. Our database is encrypted using a strong password and no part of the database may be transferred outside the boundaries of the EU or the UK.

We will only retain your personal information for as long as it is necessary to fulfil the purposes for which we collected it or to fulfil any legal, financial, accounting or reporting requirements, currently up to 7 years.

Access to your personal data and correction

You have the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you. If you would like a copy of the personal data that we hold on you please email or write to us.

We want to make sure that your personal data is accurate and up to date. You may ask us to correct or remove any data you think is inaccurate.

Please contact us if you have any questions about our privacy policy or personal data we hold about you:

By email: contact@thestringcredibles.com

The Stringcredibles is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office. We would always ask in the first instance that you contact us directly should you have any concerns regarding our use of data, but any complaints can also be directed towards the ICO by visiting www.ico.org.uk

This policy may be updated at any point to reflect clarifications of our data and privacy policy and/or the roll-out of the General Data Protection Regulations.
